BACK   Boorde, Compendyous Regyment, sig. C.i.r–v In the nyght, let the wyndowes of youre howse, specially of your chambre,; whan you be in your bed, lye a lytel whyle on your left syde, & slepe on your ryght syde. And whan you do wake of your fyrste slepe, make water yf you fele your bladder charged, and than slepe on the lefte syde ; andloke, as ofte as you do wake, so ofte toume yourselfe in the bed from the one syde to the other. Ekirch again presents a partial quote in order for it to suggest it supports his contentions he conveniently omits the last part of the sentence that “as ofte as you do wake, so ofte toume yourselfe in the bed from the one syde to the other.” which would seem to suggest that there is nothing special about waking from “fyrste slepe” BACK
